Lunch in the Library - Agenda
In response to students requests: lunch time features a variety of hands on creative library activities including beading, mosaic tiles, pop up books, maker science & origami.
Students learn new techniques & skills then can teach peers. Students develop rubrics for each project & complete a final reflection. They can also create library displays with their projects.
Participants will examine student projects, rubrics & reflections about library maker projects.
Participants will learn about community & grant resources to support library maker projects.
Participants will create 3-4 projects during this hands on workshop.
This workshop will feature maker crafts requested & evaluated by students. Attendees will learn how to develop these programs, resources for funding AND explore hands on maker crafts.
KE Hones is a librarian at two continuation high schools in San Francisco: Downtown Continuation High School & Civic Center (7-12). During the 2013-2014 school year, she created brand new libraries at Hilltop Pregnant Minors High School & Civic Center Secondary. She is a National Board Credentialed librarian & has supported National Board Candidates in San Francisco & at Stanford.
