For librarians, our work is collaborative teaching, mentoring & guiding teachers with pedagogy, resources, research & strategies for optimal lessons for a wide range of students learning styles. 

Learn the importance of analyzing  & reflecting on teaching, continually adjusting to meet student needs.

Analyze why clear, concrete & consistent WRITING is a key skill for National Board,  

Engage in discussions about teaching & learning.

Reflect on the importance of candidate support.

The support program will meet on these Saturdays from 9:00AM – 1:00 PM except where noted.

Session I: September 

Getting started: Plan the portfolio 

Session II: September 

Deconstructing the Standards

Session III: October 

Creating videos and writing about teaching

Session IV: November 

Understanding the scoring process

Session V: December

This session is at the discretion of the candidate support provider and candidates in a certificate group. Those invited to the general session on this date are advanced candidates who plan to continue work.

Session VI: January 

Entry 4 and the assessment center exercises

Session VII: February 

(This session goes from 9:00 – 2:30)

Using the evaluation tools from NBPTS to self assess entries and to talk with colleagues about adding value to entries

Session VIII: March 

(This session goes from 9:30 – 2:30)

Concentration on portfolio development and preparing for submission:
