Publicity

Write a description of the “Reality Check” program to be placed in the school daily bulletin.  This will be given to students as a hard copy and it will also be up on the school webpage.

Work with the Leadership Team to create a banner (5 feet x 9 feet) to be placed in the school entrance announcing dates of “Reality Check” workshops and library “Lunch and Learn” times.

Collaborate with Leadership Team and Library Teen Advisory Board to create a skit and make a movie to be placed on library homepage announcing “Reality Check” events.

The Teen Advisory Board will create a banner, flyer and bookmark to promote “Reality Check.”

Publicize “Reality Check” with the local branch of the public library, the Bayview Branch.  Ask Wendy and Abby, the two teen librarians to teach “Lunch and Learn” classes for students.  Ask Wendy to teach students a game using San Francisco databases available for students.  Ask Abby to repeat her incredible lecture on how to do research using the databases of the San Francisco Public Library.

Call the San Francisco Chronicle and invite them to come to one of our events.  Invite the publicity liaison for the San Francisco School District to come to a “Lunch and Learn” event.

Call the Bayview Community Newspaper and ask if we could have a student write an article and submit it for publication.

Invite Director of Library Services, Ann Dalton to come and see what is happening at Thurgood Marshall Academic High School.

Invite Superintendent of Schools, Carlos Garcia to visit the library “Lunch and Learn” program at Thurgood Marshall Academic High School.
